Frequently asked questions

What car insurance do I need to delivery for Just Eat?

If you work as a Just Eat driver, making deliveries in your car, then you need insurance that permits the delivery of goods in exchange for payment. This insurance has a use of ‘hire and reward for the delivery of goods’ (or similar).

Standard car insurance typically won’t cover you while you’re working as a delivery driver.

Why does Just Eat require that I have hire and reward delivery insurance?

Street Cover’s fast food delivery insurance provides cover for the unique risks associated with delivery work, such as frequent stops, increased mileage, and carrying goods.

Just Eat wants to ensure that all its drivers have the appropriate insurance so that, if you have an accident while driving for Just Eat, you and your car are protected (and you are covered for any damage to other people or property caused by the accident).

Will I be covered to work for other companies as well as Just Eat?

Yes, Street Cover’s food delivery insurance provides insurance to deliver goods in exchange for payment – it is independent of which company the driver is working for. So from an insurance perspective you can work for one or multiple food delivery platforms.

You are also covered to deliver parcels and most other goods that are not hazardous.

Full details of cover are in the Policy Booklet available on our documents page.
