Frequently asked questions

Does business insurance cover food delivery?

Not all business motor insurance policies will permit the policyholder to make deliveries in return for payment. To be permitted to deliver goods, your Certificate of Motor Insurance must have a permitted use of ‘hire and reward for the delivery of goods’ or similar wording.

Some business policies may only provide cover for either carriage of your own goods (such as a plumber) or to use your vehicle for work (such as an area manager visiting different stores).

All Street Cover car insurance policies permit the delivery of goods (courier or fast food or any other non-hazardous products).

Is Business delivery insurance the same as Hire and reward insurance for delivery?

Not necessarily. Business car insurance is a broader term that might cover different business needs; for example, it might cover you for driving to different places of work or visiting clients, but it often excludes using your car for actual delivery services (hire and reward).

Delivery insurance is specifically designed for the act of delivering goods in exchange for payment. It’s important to check your policy details, as using your car for deliveries without the correct hire and reward cover could invalidate your insurance.

Does business delivery insurance also permit me to use my vehicle for social reasons?

Yes, Street Cover’s delivery insurance permits you to use your car for social, domestic and pleasure reasons in addition to the delivery of goods in exchange for payment.
