Frequently asked questions

What car insurance do I need to delivery for Uber Eats?

If you deliver food as a contractor for Uber Eats then you will need car insurance that permits the delivery of goods in exchange for payment. Standard car insurance typically won’t cover you while you’re working as a delivery driver.

This type of cover is called ‘hire and reward for delivery of goods’, though we also refer to it as food delivery insurance.

Will I be covered to work for other companies as well as Uber Eats?

Yes, Street Cover’s specialist delivery insurance permits you to work for one or multiple food delivery platforms. You are also covered to delivery parcels and most other goods that are not hazardous.

Details on your vehicle cover are in the policy booklets accessible from our documents page.

Will Street Cover’s insurance permit me to drive my car for social use in addition to being an Uber Eats driver?

Yes, Street Cover’s food delivery insurance also permits the use of your vehicle for social domestic and pleasure purposes.
